About

Born and raised within the Garlean Empire's shadow, Linca never knew what it was like beyond the city walls and the sheer cold planes in her early childhood years. Her upbringing dictated her opinion of the Empire as her mother, Ysera Kisne, would be the subject in which Linca would formally decide where her loyalties lie.Her mother, conscripted before Linca's birth, was treated less than a peasant and was often subjugated to late nights amongst Garlean nobles. Fortunately for Linca, she was picked by an official who would see promise in the young Viera. Under his would-be protection, she studied to become useful in combat and espionage.To keep Linca an obedient little soldier, the Garleans stressed that her cooperation was dire, as her mother's life was in their hands. Eventually, she would discover that her absent mother was killed, causing Linca to defect from the Garlean Empire during A Realm Reborn.On the run, Linca often had to hide away from the squadron responsible for capturing the runaways of the Empire. She sought refuge in Gyr Abania, living some time by herself until being recruited into Ralgar's Reach and eventually joined their growing cause to free themselves from Garlean rule.After the happenings of Stormblood, Linca would finally feel the billowing gales of freedom, exploring the world and Eorzea to her heart's content.

Appearance

Linca is slightly shorter than the average Viera. Some Hyur men are able to stand taller than her. She has lavender locks with darker undertones on the tips of her ears, and her eyes are a pretty sage green. She sometimes grows out her hair, but tends to wear short due to the heat, which she doesn't really tolerate very well.

Personality

Linca is a well-mannered, semi-educated Viera. Having little interaction with her kind, her accent is akin to the Garleans' speech, lacking the exotic flair of the typical Viera dialect. She is kind-hearted by default and typically avoids violence unless she deems it necessary. She can be a hot-head at times, depending on specific circumstances. Fun-loving and thrill-seeking, she tends to "over do it" when it comes to drinking alcohol. She is a mixed bag when it comes to the opposite sex, either getting flustered or confident when flirted with. If the male happens to be Garlean, she more likely to get appalled, aggravated, or offended.

Background

Linca was born and raised in Garlemald where she was subjected to mental and physical abuse by the Garleans due to her race and her mother's occupation as a companion. She made friends amongst the conscripted civilians, particularly ones that worked within Garlemald as commoners and shopkeepers.When she was 9 summers, she was taken in by a Garlean official that saw promise in her ability to aim rocks with a homemade slingshot. Believing in her sharp capabilities, he believed she would do well as Garlean soldier, even going so far as to arrange education for her. Trained to use a gun proper, she was being prepped as a special agent, but she never did end up spying for the Empire however.She had been forced on multiple occasions to do things she did not agree with, but was often threatened with harm to her mother if she didn't cooperate.It wasn't until she discovered the death of her mother that Linca fervently set herself on a path of destruction. She wounded and killed Garlean soldiers and stole one of their magitek vehicles, breaking through the gates and escaping Garlemald.For many years, she would be on the run from Garlean scouts, searching to bring her back to Garlemald to confess her crimes.

Relationships

Ysera Kisne
The mother of Linca. She was a Veena that once lived in the mountains of Ilsabard. Recently visited by the male Viera, she was already carrying for Linca when she was approached by Garlean scouts while out foraging. Taken away from her home, she was forced to work as a courtesan to the high ranking Garlean officials. She was also used as a bargaining chip to keep Linca in-line, but was eventually killed when she discovered the plans they had for her daughter.
